Jan 13, 2017 So with the change of developers from Turbine to Standing Stone Games comes the change in name of Turbine Points to LOTRO Points, so with this change I thought I would take the chance to update my. Nov 26, 2010 When Turbine announced that the Lone-lands quest pack is free to all players, Lotro players who spent Turbine points on LL were very disappointed. So, we have decided to make a small guide and help them to reclaim some Turbine points in the way that they were maybe not aware of.
'Ello!
So, I'm one of those penniless peasants who's primary interest in LOTRO is that it's free to play! ...or can be, at least. After playing for a week or so, it's not hard to see how mountains of cash are probably being made by selling Turbine Points...
As much as I'd love to contribute to that mountain of cash, and really put my money where my mouth is when I say to the devs 'well done' (and seriously, well done! LOTRO is a beautiful game!) ...the circumstances of my life are such that putting money into a video game is pretty much out of the question, regardless of how nice a break from reality that game is.
So, the question is, what's the best way to get these turbine points without actually denting the bank account? I did find a nice trick on my own, which I'm sure is common knowledge among those who've actually been playing for a decent amount of time, and that's the quest 'A little extra never hurts' (or something like that) that can be completed once per server, and offers 10pts per completion; so I rolled an alt on every server, ran it to the that quest, and got enough points for mount training and some extra inventory space... but that source of points is now exhausted for me, so I must turn to another.
I'm willing to bet the answer lies with class deeds; get a toon passed the intro, do a few deeds, scrap it, repeat. ...the question is which starting zone (race) and class combination provide the biggest bang for our buck? ...or rather, fastest bang for our time; the 'buck' is busy with other frivolous things like food and rent.
Now, I know this isn't really the kind of question to be posting in a forum, since it's usually met with any variation of 'Google it, you lazy <insert profanity here>!' ...but the thing is, I did Google it, and the result was quite surprising: there are actually TONS of guides explaining the best way to get free turbine points!! ...the issue is that 'the best method' changes every time you switch to a new guide... *headscratch* ...so, my real question, to those of you who have actually explored some of these methods, is: Which one actually offers the best point-to-time ratio?
That is all! Thank you for suffering through my wall-o-text!
