I have a Dell Inspiron 560 with an Intel G45/G43 Express chipset. Starry Night 7 requires OpenGL to run displays. I had no issue when I was running Windows 7, but cannot run the program now that I've upgraded to Windows 10. When I try to run it, I get the message 'No Appropriate Graphics Drivers Found.' Neither Dell nor Intel can provide me any support on this. I don't want to have to revert back to Windows 7. Can anyone provide help on this?
Hi RobertEckrich,
I tried running Starry Night Pro Plus 6 in win 10, didn't work out (tried compatibility mode as well). However, I went a step ahead to install Oracle Virtual Box (the latest version for windows v5.0.3, I think), and installed xp virtually (used iso image) inside windows 10 - mind it that the Virtual Box software is extremely user friendly; I understood it in my first attempt with some help from youtube videos. In that virtual OS, I installed SNPP v6 and it worked without any issue.
If you are a night sky lover, go ahead and try that!
Also check the following link for the versions available for different OSs.
